General Information

Doch2 is committed to protecting the security of your game accounts. To prevent you from becoming a victim of account theft or other fraudulent methods, we have compiled some important tips for your information. However, if something like this happens to you, you can learn here what you need to do.

Beware of Scammers!

There are a number of tricks that scammers use to steal your account. We will show you the scam methods encountered so far on Doch2.
But be careful! Scammers are constantly finding new ways to take control of players' accounts. Under no circumstances should you tell anyone your account information.

Fake Team Members (Fake Staff)

They are responsible for a large portion of account thefts encountered on Doch2. They particularly choose nicknames similar to the team's nicknames (like "Admin", "GM-XY", "SUPPORT-XY", "Doch2-XY", "lGMl" and similar suffixes) and try to obtain player information by distorting the facts.

Here's what you need to know about this: How does a real GM behave and how can you tell if someone is a GM?

GM Characteristics:

  • A GM is always at the highest level.
  • The GM nickname tag is in square brackets ( [...] ) the content inside the brackets may vary but is generally: [GM], [OY], [TM], [GF], [QA] or [CM]
  • When a GM writes something to you, the text color is displayed as yellow. A normal player's text color is white.
  • A GM will never try to learn your account information under any circumstances.
  • You can also identify a GM by the GM mark above their head.

Level Service / Quest Help

So-called helpful players also exist, they say they want to help you with difficult quests and even say they will level up for you. They say they need your account information to do this.

You need to be very careful about this because with such a tactic they can take control of your account.

Valuable Item Trading

Be careful when trading your expensive equipment materials or other items!

Newly started players often don't know about the risk of theft, so the mentioned items are frequently stolen. When trading these items, always ask for an equivalent deposit otherwise you may never see your item again.

Duplicating Items

Avoid players who promise to double your items. Do not give your equipment items to anyone easily, otherwise you may never see them again.

Distribution of Expensive Phone Numbers

In some cases, scammers distribute premium 0900 phone numbers. They tell you that if you stay on the line for a few minutes, you can get free Dragon Coins.

If someone you don't know gives you a phone number, never call it, or it could cost you a lot of money.

Hack Distribution

Using programs that manipulate the game or provide rule-breaking advantages is prohibited, and you will be permanently banned from the game. There is a very high chance that such programs contain keyloggers or other malicious content that can steal your personal information or harm you in other ways.

No matter how attractive these offers seem, do not fall for them and never download such programs.

Fraud in Internet Relay Chat (IRC)

Scammers are active even on IRC. They use the nicknames of team members to contact players asking for help, pretending to send malware-containing programs or to gain access to your account information.

How can I tell if someone on IRC is really a team member?

  • On the official Doch2 channel (#Doch2.tr), team member nicknames have either a + or @ symbol in front of them.
  • You can also perform a Whois query ("/whois nickname" or right-click on the nickname and select "Whois").

Team members will show a result like this: Akisee is [email protected]

All of our team members have such extensions, but they vary by position: (GM extension: gamemaster.Doch2; moderator extension: moderator.Doch2). These show that they are members of the Doch2.TR team. Please pay attention to these.
